Early Literacy:
Building Literacy Every Day Every time you read a book, write a note, sort the laundry, check the TV listings, or recount the day’s happenings, you are using skills young children need to have to be ready to learn to read and write. Here are some simple activities you and your child can do together.

Art Project: Paper Roll Flower Stamp
What You Need:
 - Paper
 - Paint
 - Toilet Paper Roll
 - Scissors
Directions:
1. Cut the end of the toilet paper roll to look like a flower. Examples can be seen in the picture to the right.
2. Dip the cut end of the toilet paper roll into the paint.
3. Press it down on the paper to create a print.
4. Continue to do so until you have your own garden of spring flowers.
Don’t have any paint? Make your own with three ingredients you probably already have at home!  Mix together equal parts flour, salt, and water (i.e. ½ cup of each). Add food coloring to make the color you want!  Recipe from https://www.smartschoolhouse.com/diy-crafts/make-homemade-paint
