On April 12, 1861, the day after the attack on Fort Sumter, President Lincoln called for 75,000 military volunteers, of which Ohio's quota was 13,000. Join us to hear how Ohio contributed to the war effort. 

Children of all ages can practice reading aloud to friendly, trained therapy dogs. Join us 10:30-Noon.

The current Barberton Post Office was completed in 1933, but the history of the post office dates back to the 1860s. Discover the long history of the post office on October 19. 

Shortly after its founding, Barberton became known worldwide as a community with jobs, attracting workers from all over the globe. Come learn about the immigrants who came here to work and live as Ethnic Barberton is presented. 

The Library is open until 8:00 pm for the Barberton Winter Wonderland Festival.  We will have special activities in the Children's Department as well as Teen Central and the Friends of the Library will hold a mini-sale in the lobby from 5:00 - 7:30 pm.

The Library closes at 6:00 pm.

Amanda Flower, a three-time Agatha Award-nominated mystery author, started her writing career in elementary school when she read a story she wrote to her sixth grade class and had the class in stitches with her description of being stuck on the top of a Ferris wheel.
