Are you interested in learning more about climate change? Join us for a distance learning program led by Jason Cervenec, the Education and Outreach Director of the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center at The Ohio State University.
You will:
1. Discuss the causes of climate change and the impact it is having on our environment.

Have you seen those colorful rocks hidden throughout your neighborhood? As a way to brighten the day of a stranger, Northeast Ohio Rocks have been hidden throughout all of northeast Ohio. Join us at the library to make some rock creations of our own to hide in plain sight throughout Barberton.
 

Thomas Neel of the Ohio Genealogical Society will explain the crucial role that maps play in genealogy research. Learn how to utilize maps to answer questions that you may have about your family history and genealogy. 

Bring a white coffee mug to the library and get creative! Use your Valentine's Day inspiration to design a mug with a favorite quote or cute graphic. The library will provide the special Sharpies you need to complete your design. White coffee mugs can be purchased at nearby superstores, thrift stores, dollar stores, or online. Bring at least one mug, but please no more than two. 

A monthly Local History program covering different topics related to Barberton, Summit County, and Ohio history. Everyone is welcome to attend.
 

Join us at the library to improve your flexibility by participating in a free chair yoga class. This gentle program is designed for seniors and individuals struggling with mobility. The class will be led by Colleen Hohl, a 200 hour certified yoga instructor from the Asheville Yoga Center in North Carolina.

It has been 196 years since the Ohio Legislature first authorized the establishment of canals by the state. Though today, on a quiet bicycle ride up or down the Towpath Trail, the remnants of the Ohio and Erie Canal might seem fairly small and inconsequential – this is not the case. The State of Ohio, and particularly this region of Ohio, were greatly impacted by the development of the Ohio and Erie Canal.
