Children are invited to practice their reading skills with trained therapy dogs on the fourth Saturday of each month from 11:00 am - noon.

Reading aloud to a therapy dog, in a friendly, non-critical environment can help reduce stress and anxiety, and build a child's confidence, as well as improve fluency, focus and help promote the joy of reading.  

No reservations necessary!

If you are interested in genealogy, the Genealogy Club welcomes amateur genealogists of all skill levels. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Board Room at 6:30 pm. Each month we discuss different genealogy topics, complete activities to support genealogical research, or listen to a speaker. The group members are a great source of advice or experience if you are stuck in your research.

Pokemon Club will be evolving this fall!  Starting in September, it will be called Trading Card Game Club.  Kids can bring a variety of trading cards, such as Pokemon cards, Yu-Gi-Oh cards, Bakugan Battle Brawlers and cardsm and more to the library to share, battle, and with parental permission, trade!

Chair Yoga for Beginners

Join us at the library to improve your flexibility by participating in a free chair yoga class. This gentle program is designed for seniors and individuals struggling with mobility. The class will be led by Colleen Hohl, a 200 hour certified yoga instructor from the Asheville Yoga Center in North Carolina.
