Children and their families are invited to take a Story Walk at Lake Anna while reading a story and learning yoga poses. Maps and directions will be available at Lake Anna, the Children's Department, and on our website (below). For Story Walk questions, stop by the Children's Department!
 
 

Children of all ages are invited to stop by the Children’s Department one Saturday a month for a Scavenger Hunt. Find hidden book covers, complete special word games and puzzles, answer trivia questions and watch a movie or play a wii game, all on a special theme! This program will last the entire day, stop in anytime. 

School age Shopkin Collectors can bring their Shopkins to the library and have some fun! We will have games and activities and spend time talking about Shopkins
 

School age children in the Summer Reading Club can read in the library and record their hours. We will read together in the Children’s Activity Room in the Children’s Department.

 

Middle School students - that's 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th graders - can join us at the library on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, from 3:00 - 4:30 for TWEEN TUESDAYS!  We will hang out in the activity room on the Children's floor and there will be a variety of activities each Tuesday, plus a snack!

Checkers the size of plates? A Trouble board you can walk on? Come play some life size games at the library! School age children in grades K-8, can join in some giant fun as we play life size board games like Checkers, Sorry!, and Chutes and Ladders.
 

Explore your artistic talents and experiment with different art mediums including drawing, painting, collage and clay sculpting. School age children can come to the library and create their own unique piece of art!

Join us at the library as the Low Brass Trio share their music and instruments. We will enjoy a few musical pieces performed by them and then try a hand at playing their instruments! Children in grades K -8 are welcome to join in the music making.  
 

Children in grades K - 8 can join us for an hour of games, crazy experiments and an art project, as we bubble, fizz and probably make a mess!
