Welcome to Your Library Online

For more than 100 years, your hometown library has been dedicated to enriching the community as Barberton's most reliable knowledge source.  In addition to offering a welcoming atmosphere, we are continuously doing our best to provide valuable information and resources around the clock.

Library Board of Trustees Vacancy

The Trustees are seeking a community member to join the board who possesses a passion for public library service. A Barberton Public Library Trustee must be a qualified elector living in Summit County, with Barberton residency preferred. The successful candidate will complete the current vacant unexpired term, which runs through June 2017.

Trustees serve for seven-year terms and are not paid for their service. The Board generally meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30pm. The Personnel, Finance, and Building Committees also meet monthly and each trustee serves on at least one committee.

Anyone interested in serving the community as a Library Trustee is encouraged to complete an application, which can be found here or at the library’s Customer Service Desk. Please contact Library Director Julianne Bedel with any questions. She can be reached at 330-745-1194 or julianne.bedel@barbertonlibrary.org . Review of applicants will begin after May 15, 2012.
