Outreach

Our definition of service extends into the community.

It is the Library’s mission to provide services to all members of our community. As part of this effort, each of our departments provides outreach services. The Children's Department visits schools, preschools, and daycare centers located in Barberton, as well as hosts certain programs outside of the Library. Our teen librarian visits the high school and middle school to host book clubs. The Reference Department provides home delivery services and has lobby stops around Barberton once a month.

Find local organizations and resources in the Community Resource Guide.

Our staff have compiled this list to help those in a time of need. The brochure contains contact information and details for services and resources in Barberton, Akron, and surrounding areas. This brochure is updated as regularly as possible but, we encourage you to reach out to the individual organizations before visiting to check current hours and services.

If your organization is in the Community Resource Guide and you need to update services, hours, or anything else, please reach out to us at pr@barbertonlibrary.org with 'Community Resource Guide' in the subject line.

Due to restrictions on our website, we can no longer have the downloadable PDF version of the Community Resource Guide. Please contact us at pr@barbertonlibrary.org to get the most recent version or stop into the library to pick some up.
