Accessibility at your Library
We are a KultureCity certified venue.
The Barberton Public Library has worked with KultureCity to become a sensory inclusive venue and create an inclusive library experience for everyone. Our staff is trained annually on how to cater to everyone with sensory needs, including autism, PTSD, adults with dementia, and more.
How we support those with sensory needs:
- KultureCity sensory bags (with noise-cancelling headphones, fidget toys, mood indication cards, and more) are available at every public service desk in the Library.
- We offer designated Quiet Zones on each floor of the Library.
- A Social Story for our location is available on the KultureCity website.
- Weighted lap pads available for use while within the library.

Service Animals
The Barberton Library welcomes customers who use service animals as determined by the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). A service animal is a dog or miniature horse which is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. The work or task must be related to the handler's disability.
Animals that are considered pets, support, or therapy animals, are not defined as services animals by the ADA and are not permitted in the Library.
For more information about the Americans with Disabilities Act and service animals, please visit the ADA website.
