Dear Library Customer,

We are pleased to announce the next steps in our plan for a gradual return to service.  Beginning Monday, June 15 we are introducing service one floor at a time in an effort to give staff time to ensure that social distancing and safety measures are in place.

Library hours will be Monday through Thursday 10 am to 6 pm and Friday and Saturday 10 am to 5 pm.  Customer visits will be limited to one hour to allow the maximum number of people to access the building each day.

Curbside service will continue for those who prefer not to enter the building. Just pull into a curbside spot and a staff member will be right with you.

If you have used the library catalog, you may have noticed that you can only request items from the Barberton collection. Access to the CLEVNET collection will be restored once statewide delivery begins, hopefully some time in July.  We can help! Our staff access allows us to place holds for you on the entire collection, so please call or email us at reference@barbertonlibrary.org

We will continue to offer virtual programming and online book clubs and programs until we are able return to normal programming.

The Library will look a little different since the last time you visited. The health and safety of our staff and customers is our top priority. Rules for social distancing, safety measures and sanitizing protocols have been put in place. Staff take their temperatures at the start of each shift and are required to wear masks. All staff have been trained on new safety and sanitizing protocols.

Surfaces are regularly disinfected throughout the day. Returned materials are placed under a UV germicidal light for at least one hour, then are quarantined at least 72 hours before being checked in. Note that it may take up to five days for an item to be removed from your account.

Please note that all dates are subject to change. The Library will continue to follow the directives from the Ohio Department of Health, the Summit County Department of Health and the CDC.

Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented time. We have missed you and look forward to seeing you soon.
