The
Friends of the Library exists to help enrich the services and materials provided
to the community by the Barberton Public Library.
Through Friends support, additional programs and services that cannot be
included in the Library's tax-supported budget are made possible.
Newsletters, volunteer luncheons, special promotions and
publicity, bags for patrons, and an expanded calendar of programs are only a few
examples of projects made possible by the Friends of the Library.
The
Friends of the Library has three main sources of funding: the generous support
of members who pay yearly dues; the revenues generated by book sales; and the Lake
Anna Arts Festival, which the Friends of the Library co-sponsors.
Won’t
you consider joining?
Members
of the Friends of the Library receive the library newsletter mailed to their
home and are also entitled to attend pre-sale night, prior to advertised book
sales. Book sales are usually held
in the spring and the fall. Members
may choose to attend monthly meetings, usually held the second Saturday of the
month at 11am, and are invited to serve on the committees as interest and
availability dictate. Membership starts at just $3.00 per year!

The Friends of the Library have monthly meetings. While
attendance at meetings is not required for membership, won't you consider having
an active role in supporting your hometown library?

meetings are at 11:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month at the Library in
