Catch
the Reading bug – Summer Reading Club – June 7 to August 2
Some bugs are “bad”
bugs, like mosquitoes; some bugs are “good” bugs, like ladybugs, but the
absolutely best bug is the reading bug, and the Barberton Public Library is
going to be abuzz with lots of them this summer.
This year our summer
reading club will focus on bugs. We’ll
have buggy contests and buggy crafts, and even buggy prizes.
How do you catch the reading bug? Just
check out some books from the children’s department and when you have listened
to them (if you are not reading on your own yet) or read them yourself, return
them to the children’s department and tell us that you’ve turned into a
reading bug. Children can join the
reading club anytime the Library is open.
In addition to earning
prizes by listening to or reading books, children are invited to a family
storyhour on Mon. evenings at 6:30 pm starting June 9 and to craft programs on
Tuesday and Wednesday starting June 10. Programs
for children three to six will be Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 10:30 am
to 11:00 am starting on June 10. Children
six to eight will have sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:00 pm to
3:00 pm starting the same date, and children eight to thirteen will have a craft
session on Tue. from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Please call the Library each week to
register for the craft sessions.
