Job Monkey  This site is for people who are interested in seasonal jobs that are off the beaten path, such as working in Alaskan fisheries, teaching abroad, and working in tourism. It has informatin about these jobs are like, employer profiles, and tips for getting started.

JobHuntersBible.com  This site was created by Dick Bolles, author of What Color is Your Parachute? The site offers advice on topics such as networkign, job searching on the Internet, and what to do when you strike out. It also offers links to resume and interview sites, as well as sites that offer personal assessment tests.

Keirsey Temperament Sorter II   This site offers a free, online personality questionnaire to help job seekers learn about themselves and what type of work for which they are best suited.

Motivational Appraisal of Personal Potential (MAPP)  This site offers the MAPP test, which can help job seekers determine what type of job would make them happiest.  This site also has labor market information, career planning information, and tips for writing resumes.

Occupational Outlook Handbook  Sponsored by the U. S. Department of Labor, The Occupational Outlook Handbook presents detailed information on a wide range of occupations. It describes what people do in their work, what work conditions are like, what training and education are required, what people earn, and job prospects for each occupation.

OhioMeansJobs.com  The State of Ohio has a tool available for job seekers. Created by the Ohio Department of Development , this PowerPoint presentation offers step-by-step instructions on how to register and post a resume on OhioMeansJobs.com.

Ohio Job and Family Services  Apply for unemployment, check for information regarding training and counseling as well

Ohio Web Junction  This is an "all purpose" site to all types of services provided by Ohio libraries. Check out the Basic Computer Skills under Ohio Technology to learn mouse skills and more.

One Stop Career Centers  Ohio has 90 local One-Stop offices designed to assist job seekers, employers and youth with a wide range of workforce-related services. Every One-Stop office offers job search assistance, employee recruitment, job training, and much, much more.

Federal Agencies

Employment & Training Administration   From the U. S. Department of Labor, this site has information about job seeking, applying for unemployment compensation, laid-off workers retraining programs, federal job openings, apprenticeship training, the Job Corps, and America's One-Stop Career Centers.

Office of Disability Employment Policy  This site form the U. S. Department of Labor offers job links listed by state, information on programs aimed at assisting the disabled, information on state liaisons, and a list of related sites.

U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)  This site offers information about federal laws prohibiting job discrimination, how to file a discrimination complaint, employment rights of the individual, and laws regarding sexual harassment.

Database Resources for: Jobs & Careers

Brain Track    BrainTrack's Career Guide helps visitors evaluate career options and find schools through its extensive resources. The guide offers data on hundreds of careers that typically require higher education for entry or advancement and features links to thousands of schools.

Job & Career Accelerator  This resource from the State Library of Ohio provides personalized, step-by-step job search assistance for all levels of job seekers from exploring and matching suitable occupations from over 1000 detailed occupation profiles to finding available jobs in their area from a database of over 5 million up-to-date job postings. Registration for this service is free.

Learning Express Library   A good website for those "tests"- ACT, SAT, Civil Service, GED and the like.  The site offers the type of questions and exercises that may appear on standardized tests.
 
Occupational Outlook Handbook  The Bureau of Labor Statistics is responsible for the publication of this handbook.  The Occupational Outlook is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their furture work lives.  Great for young people researching career possiblities
