Library Seeking Technology Trainer (part-time)

The Barberton Public Library is seeking applicants for one part-time AmeriCorps member to work with our Reference Services Department providing digital literacy training to individuals and groups in the Barberton community.  The goal is for the AmeriCorps member is to work with library staff to provide training to residents who need digital literacy skills to fully participate in online government, search and apply for jobs online, understand the risks and benefits of internet finance, connect with family online, and protect personal information in the digital age.  Additional information about the program can be found at www.guidingohioonline.org
 
The BPL position is for an 11-month term of service starting on September 19, 2016, and ending on August 19, 2017.  The candidate will work for a total of 900 hours and must be at least 18 years old and able pass a background check.  There will be paid training in Columbus. There is a $6,600 stipend paid over 11 months (bi-weekly pays). The AmeriCorps member is eligible to apply to his/her student loan provider for loan forbearance on student loans and is eligible to receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of up to $2,865 upon successful completion of service.   Questions?
