Children's Room

Storytime is an interactive program for children which features stories, fingerplays, and simple crafts for youngsters ages 3 to 5 years.  They are engaging programs which share reading and stories in a casual setting that encourages children to enjoy reading for fun, while they also interact with others their own age.

Preschool summer storytime and craft program will be on Thursdays  from 2:15- 2:45 on June 17 and 24; July 1, 8, 15 and 22.  Registration for this program will begin on June 7.   If you have any questions, please contact the Children's Room. 

According to the American Library Association, a study of  3- to 5-year-olds who had been read to at least three times per week found the children:

• Two times more likely to recognize all letters.
• Two times more likely to have word-sight recognition.
• Two times more likely to understand words in context.
