Children's Room

Storytime is an interactive program for children which features stories, fingerplays and songs for youngsters ages 2 to 5 years.  They are engaging programs which share reading and stories in a casual setting that encourages children to enjoy reading for fun, while they also interact with others their own age.

Preschool winter storytime will be on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:00 starting January 17 and ending on March 20, 2012.  There is no registration for this program.   If you have any questions, please contact the Children's Department. 

According to the American Library Association, a study of  3- to 5-year-olds who had been read to at least three times per week found the children:

• Two times more likely to recognize all letters.
• Two times more likely to have word-sight recognition.
• Two times more likely to understand words in context.
