About the Library

The Reference Department Manager provides the full range of professional reference assistance to library users.  Mary Kay develops and maintains the reference collection which includes selecting nonfiction materials as well as the foreign language collection.  She also designs and presents programs throughout the year, including the Morning and Evening Discussion Groups. As part of her duties, Mary Kay maintains the Community, Help, Information and Referral Directories (CHIRP).  As a supervisor, she administers all aspects of the Reference Department, including supervision and training of staff, recommending policies and procedures and resolving problems related to reference services and programs for adults and teens.
